Our mission and vision
At TNO, we create impactful innovations for the sustainable wellbeing and prosperity of society. We support the Dutch government in carrying out statutory and other government tasks in the public interest. And we help to boost the earning power of the Netherlands.
Our goals
Over the last nine decades, we have developed countless innovations, each with its own impact. And for the coming decade, too, we are setting ambitious goals to achieve together with our partners. With these goals for 2030, we’ll contribute to resolving societal issues in the Netherlands and to boosting the country’s earning power.
From research to impact
By creating spin-off companies, we ensure that TNO’s research is translated into new products and services. We support companies in developing business cases and determining the best route to market. And we help SMEs with innovation-related issues.

Creating innovations is all about working together. With partners. That is why, every year, we work on shared challenges with some 3,000 large multinationals, SMEs, universities, knowledge institutions, and public authorities, in the Netherlands and abroad.
