At TNO, I focus on enhancing the self-awareness and situational awareness of automated vehicles. By improving the vehicle’s self-awareness, it can better identify its own limitations, thereby preventing potentially unsafe situations. By increasing situational awareness, the vehicle can more accurately predict what may happen in a traffic situation, enabling it to anticipate better than currently available commercial vehicles or human-driven vehicles.
