I am trained as an Occupational Health Psychologist and primarily conduct research on the impact of human and organizational failures on the safety and health of employees. Currently, I am active in the fields of safety culture and behavior, (team) resilience, and safety in relation to the digitalization and robotization of work. Additionally, since 2020, I have been trained and certified (NOBCO, EIA) as a professional coach specializing in career and personal development.

Since 2008 I have been using my knowledge and skills to create innovative safety solutions to promote safe and healthy working in high-risk companies. I do this as a safety management consultant, researcher and certified coach with almost 16 years of experience in the occupational safety domain. I mainly work on improving the safety culture in companies and the safety behaviour that underpins it. On the one hand, by developing measuring instruments to identify problems in these areas. And then through the development of evidence-based interventions through the Keuzewijzer Behavioural Interventions approach. I am mainly focused on facilitating B2B organisations and government agencies with OSH-related problems (such as inspection services).

Some of the research innovations to which I have actively contributed are:

  1. The ADAPTER Team Resilience Questionnaire
  2. Safety@Corebusiness questionnaire for identifying strengths and weaknesses in relation to various safety-relevant topics
  3. GRIP: risk inventory and evaluation tool for assessing risks related to human-machine interaction of (advanced) robots
  4. The Behavioural Interventions Selection Guide
