Maartje Bakhuys Roozeboom
Social psychologist Maartje Bakhuys Roozeboom has worked at TNO since 2007 in the WorkHealth Technology department. As a researcher on the theme of mental health at work, she conducts research on psychosocial risk management and work stress prevention.
As a member of the Psycho Social Health (PSH) team, she conducts research into psychosocial risk factors, work stress and undesirable behavior in the workplace. Results of this research form the basis for innovative solutions at different intervention levels that improve the mental health of employees. Maartje specializes in the primary prevention of work stress at the organizational level. She also has expertise in the field of behavior change and implementation of interventions.
Maartje was involved, among other things, in the development of the “Werkdruk Wegwijzer”, a work stress prevention approach that organizations can use to prevent and decrease work stress in their organization. This approach is highly regarded in the Netherlands and is used as a standard by many organizations that suffer from high work pressure and burnout-related absenteeism. At the moment, Maartje is conducting PhD research into work stress prevention among teachers in primary education. Results of her research have been published in reports, books and scientific journals.
