As Managing Director of the Mobility & Built Environment unit (MBE), I am responsible for TNO's contribution to the realisation of a future-proof living environment.
An environment in which we can live comfortably and sustainably, in which transport is organised properly and safely (without harmful emissions) and which can cope with changes like for instance climate change. As a unit, we develop the knowledge needed for this and work on broad application in practice.
Building relationships with government and companies, initialize partnerships and continuously developing the knowledge and talents of our employees are crucial for this. Key topics within the MBE unit are safe & efficient mobility, sustainability and safety of buildings and infrastructure and safe & sustainable shipping.
Besides Managing Director, I am also active in a number of boards and councils such as board member TKI Bouw & Techniek, chairman of the board of Stichting Toekomst Infra, member of the Bouwberaad, board member TKI Maritime Technology, board member SmartPort and member of the Advisory Board of Stichting Connekt.
