Marije Deul

Functie:
Scientist Specialist, Naval Architect

Together with a team of colleagues I work towards solutions for safe and sustainable maritime structures. Expertise area: fatigue and fracture of steel structures, naval architecture.

For questions regarding circular structures, reuse of steel elements in ship structures, fatigue, lifetime extension and hydrogen embrittlement: feel free to reach out.

With a background as a Naval Architect (Marine Technology, TU Delft) combined with a sailing hobby I have a lot of enthusiasm for the maritime sector. From the TNO perspective I am always looking for a practical implementation of novel scientific findings, which should fit well with shipyard- and engineering practices. Next to that I am a committee member in the Fatigue and Fracture Committee of the International Ship and Offshore Structure Conference (ISSC) in which the scientific literature is evaluated.

The majority of my work is related to the proposition 'Safe and Sustainable Maritime and Offshore.'

Projects and publications:  Tailoring the Fatigue Detail Category Class (pdf); Groeien met Groen Staal; ISSC2025ResearchGate
