Pepijn van Empelen

I am a behavioral psychologist at the Health & Work unit. I conduct research on behavioral interventions in the context of a healthy lifestyle and a healthy living environment, with a specific focus on people in vulnerable positions. My work focuses on the evidence-based development of behavioral interventions and implementation research.
Within the programs ‘Personalized Prevention and Care’ and ‘Early Metabolic Health’, I conduct research on behavior change methods and interventions that contribute to a healthier lifestyle, sustainable behavior change, and also on informed decision-making regarding vaccination choices and screening. This includes school programs and eHealth applications, but I also study methods to promote more integrated decision-making around a healthy living environment. Lastly, I research ways to better reach and engage vulnerable citizens in research and interventions.
