Experienced Consultant System Integration Wind Energy | Delft
Want to make your mark on our time? Become an consultant at TNO in Delft!
About this position
Working in teams with dedicated experts in multiple disciplines, you will take the lead in research on system integration of green energy, with a focus on offshore wind, and various raw materials, including solar energy, conversion to hydrogen, and storage technologies. You will not only conduct research, but also initiate projects based on your vision of the role of green energy in the energy transition. The potential is huge, as shown by plans to create artificial energy islands in the North Sea. To drive pragmatic, innovative solutions, you develop project proposals in close collaboration with your colleagues and our partners. You will also build your network and project-related consortiums. You will disseminate results to a wide audience, including government, industry, and research, through conferences, writing papers, giving presentations, and representing TNO.
What will be your role?
As a consultant, you are a key link between our clients and the project teams. You will work simultaneously on several research projects at various stages of implementation. For example, one day you will work in the morning on a proposal for a new project in collaboration with project developers and market players, and in the afternoon, you will brainstorm with colleagues from various research groups on the implementation of offshore wind energy in combination with other technologies, such as conversion to hydrogen, energy storage in batteries, or energy system flexibility. On another day, you will prepare a client meeting and put the finishing touches on the final report, translating the findings into clear texts.
As a consultant, you will also maintain an overview of our projects to see if we are on track to achieve our technical and societal objectives. In this role, you will participate in conducing applied research and the detailed elaboration of the requested solutions. So, you will work on concepts for the future, but thanks to your quick-thinking skills, you also know how to make them applicable.
Your home base is the internationally diverse team of the Wind Energy research group. Together with more than 50 qualified colleagues at our high-tech research sites in Petten and Delft, you will share the ambition of integrating wind into an ultimately zero-carbon energy system and scaling up offshore wind production. We work together on numerous topics. We therefore need you to share your knowledge and innovative ideas, as we do. At both locations, you will find a professional, fun, and supportive atmosphere where you will be coached and encouraged to develop your full potential.
