About this position

We are seeking a motivated MSc student in geosciences or similar disciplines to join our project team as an work student and contribute to the development of a well integrity screening tool for CCS application. This offers an opportunity to work at TNO and closely collaborate with SINTEF, a Norwegian partner and co-developer in the project.

What will be your role?

  • Conduct thorough testing of the QGIS plugin (under development) to ensure the reliability and functionality of the tool
  • Collect relevant data to test the plugin testing from public repositories and real life case studies provided by the project partners
  • Collaborate with our development team to optimize features of this plugin
  • Contribute to the development of a user manual
  • Participate in a regular project and internal team meetings

What we expect from you

  • MSc candidate in geosciences or similar studies
  • Good knowledge of subsurface especially related to (oil and gas) wells
  • General understanding of CCS and oil and gas upstream activities
  • Basic experience of Python programming, including use of Pandas library
  • Being familiar with QGIS
  • Being familiar with ‘GUI’ designer software, for example QtDesigner.
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

The selection process

Please apply before the 5th of July. The selection process comprises two interview rounds. The preliminary interview takes place on the 9th of July, 2024. In a final meeting we will discuss the terms of employment and your tailored benefits package. We aim to finalize the entire process within four weeks.

The selection process may include an online assessment and a reference check.

A certificate of Conduct (VOG) is required before starting a new job at TNO.
