About this position

As a Program Manager Science & Technology at TNO’s High Tech Industry (HTI), you will contribute to shaping our scientific direction and the development of technologies that form the basis for important future innovations. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our ambition to work together with the government, companies and knowledge institutions to create a more sustainable living environment. As a Program Manager Science & Technology, you are the connecting link within the HTI science and technology programs. In this role you play a vital role in not only scouting emerging technologies that may meet future customer needs but also evaluating their practical feasibility for manufacturing. This hands-on approach ensures that the innovations pursued by HTI are not merely conceptual but are also viable for successful manufacturing and market integration.

What will be your role?

Program leadership:

  • You'll establish a new HTI program focused on scouting, exploration and high-risk research related to new disruptive developments, working closely with research teams within the unit and in academia.
  • Oversee the knowledge agendas of the HTI proposition teams and contribute to linking scientific research to technological innovation.
  • Manage HTI's portfolio of (potential) Early Research Programs (ERPs), guiding ERP teams in the process of writing proposals and monitoring the implementation of ERPs.
  • Translate the outcomes of the Science council meetings and consultations with the scientific leadership team into an operational approach, in coordination with the Director of Science and Technology.
  • Contribute to the formulation and implementation of the HTI scientific policy.

Knowledge sharing and Stakeholder management:

  • Professionalize knowledge sharing within HTI (and beyond), for example through leading the annual HTI Technology Review meetings and the other HTI unit meetings.
  • Engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including industry, academia, and government, to ensure effective collaboration and impact.

Project management:

  • Where appropriate, lead substantive projects within the unit.
  • Ensure effective resource allocation and management throughout program lifecycles.
