The energy transition is going very fast. This will require a transformation of the current energy infrastructure and faster deployment of novel and sustainable energy assets such as electrolyzers, green industrial plants, flow batteries, compressors etc. In the meantime, the existing energy system must remain reliable and guarantee the security of supply. A good understanding of the dynamic processes of equipment is necessary to guarantee the reliability.

As a technical consultant, you will work on projects in the area of safe and reliable energy production and process installations. Your work will focus on unsteady flow and structural modelling connected to rotating equipment facilities. You will have close contact with clients to improve the reliability and efficiency of their system that is jeopardized by flow instabilities and acoustic pulsations. Your work will strongly link to the ambition of TNO to contribute to the energy transition.

In your role as a technical consultant you can identify yourself in the following profile:

• You have a Master(MSc) degree preferably in: Applied physics, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering.
• You have a vast knowledge in modelling of fluid flow.
• You are familiar with rotating machinery, such as compressors, pumps, turbines, generators and engines.
• You enjoy and have the ability to troubleshoot complex problems in which you are capable to problem-solve on own initiative and together in a team. You have attention for details.

In this role it is important that you are capable to tackle complex flow problems and understand the interest of your client. The projects you work on contain multiple disciplines that require a broad knowledge base and good communication skills with other experts around you. You identify yourself as a team player and enjoy working in multi-disciplinary teams.

We offer a gross monthly salary between € 3,226,- and € 5,703,- (based on your knowledge and experience), 8% holiday pay, a 13th month bonus of 8.33% and a flex budget (5.58% + € 180).
