Transform the Dutch industry and other sectors with smart AI solutions. Contribute to sustainable and efficient production processes at TNO in Soesterberg.

As a scientific consultant in AI, you’ll dedicate about 50% of your time to shaping the future of the smart industry. You help companies in the production sector, as well as other industries, work smarter and more sustainably using advanced AI and data solutions. You translate complex challenges into innovative solutions with direct impact. Examples include:

• Boosting efficiency: Develop AI systems that help companies optimize production processes, such as predictive maintenance to minimize downtime.
• Enhancing sustainability: Work on intelligent applications that support companies in recycling, like systems that combine data and visual inspections to enable material reuse.
• Accelerating digitalization: Advise companies on how to leverage data and AI to future-proof their processes. This can range from process automation to data-driven decision-making.
• Fostering collaboration: Bring companies and other stakeholders together to tackle shared challenges and drive joint innovation.

You’re involved not only in the development of technology but also in its practical implementation. Together with clients and colleagues, you work on projects where AI plays a key role, such as making supply chains more sustainable or building systems that support real-time decision-making.

We are looking for a consultant who bridges technology and industry and works with clients to find the best solutions. Your profile:

• A university degree in a relevant field, such as mechanical engineering, data science, AI, or technical business administration.
• Knowledge of or experience with industrial AI applications, such as machine learning, predictive maintenance, or visual inspection systems.
• Strong analytical skills: You can dissect complex processes and propose improvements that create value.
• Communication skills: You can clearly present your ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Affinity with sustainability and the challenges faced by the smart industry.
• Fluency in both Dutch and English.

We offer a gross monthly salary between €4.500,- and €6.600,- (based on your knowledge and experience), 8% holiday pay, a 13th month bonus of 8.33% and a flex budget (5.58% + € 180). Please apply before 19th of January. The selection process comprises two interview rounds. The preliminary interview takes place on 27th of January, 2025. The second interview round has been scheduled for 30th of January, 2025. In a final meeting we will discuss the terms of employment and your tailored benefits package. We aim to finalize the entire process within four weeks.

A certificate of Conduct (VOG) is required before starting a new job at TNO.
