Tjark Tjin-A-Tsoi nominated as new CEO and chairman of TNO Board of Directors
Today, Mr Tjark Tjin-A-Tsoi (1966) has been nominated by the Council of Ministers for appointment as CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board of TNO. After the appointment by Royal Decree, he will start in his new position as of 1 June 2022.
Mr. Gijs de Vries, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of TNO in a reaction: "I am very pleased with the appointment of Tjark. This gives TNO a very experienced CEO. Together with the other members of the Executive Board, he is able to fulfil TNO's mission with new impetus: connecting people and knowledge to create innovations that sustainably strengthen the competitiveness of companies and the well-being of society."
Tjark Tjin-A-Tsoi
Currently, Tjark Tjin-A-Tsoi is Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Sanquin. Before that, he was director-general of Statistics Netherlands (CBS) from 2014 to 2020. Previously, he worked as general director of the Netherlands Forensic Institute and as director of Competition Supervision at the Dutch Competition Authority. Before that, he held positions at Ernst & Young, Rabobank and Shell, among others. He holds a PhD in theoretical physics from the University of Amsterdam.
Current additional positions include: member of the Supervisory Board of the Free University (VU), member of the 'Raad van Nesteliers' (Advisory Council) of the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee and member of the Supervisory Board of the Dutch National Opera & Ballet.
