Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-IR) is a spectroscopic technique used to analyse molecules based on their interaction with infrared light. When infrared light passes through a sample, different chemical bonds within the molecule absorb specific wavelengths of light, resulting in an absorption spectrum. This spectrum acts as a "fingerprint" for the molecule, with distinct peaks corresponding to functional groups such as -OH, -CH, or -CO.
