Description
Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, is an analysis technique that detects the vibrational frequencies of molecular compounds using infrared light. Each molecular compound is made visible at a specific wavelength, allowing FT-IR to demonstrate which of these compounds are present in a sample and to what extent.
Technical details
We use a Perkin Elmer Frontier FT-IR system that is calibrated under ISO/IEC 17025.
Applications
The FT-IR setup is mainly used for characterizing bitumen and other materials used in road construction, such as rejuvenators.
