Heat Flow Calorimeter
- Category:
- Measure
- Brand:
- TNO
- Type:
- HFC
Description
With Heat Flow Calorimetry (HFC) small heat effects can be measured during an isothermal measurement of the sample. Mainly used for the lifetime prediction of gunpowder. Large sample size, up to a maximum of 10 grams, easy to repair, if necessary. Can also be used with glass sample holders.
Technical details
Temperature range 40 tot 120 °C, isothermal.
Applications
HFC is mainly used to determine the stability of low-smoke gunpowder, but can also be used to monitor other slow processes in which heat is generated, example determination of the SADT (Self Accelerated Decomposition Temperature).
