Description
The TGA-DSC 3+ can measure weight change and heat flow of materials simultaneously under a controlled temperature program and atmosphere with high accuracy.
Technical details
The TGA-DSC 3+ can measure weight changes of a few micrograms in a weight range up to several grams. The temperature range varies from room temperature to 1100°C, with a heating rate between 0.02 K/min and 250 K/min. Measurements can be made under different atmospheres, such as: air, nitrogen, argon, CO2, etc. Volume crucibles: max. 100 µl.
Additional techniques
Simultaneously with the TGA measurement, the heat flow from and to the sample is measured. This allows a weight change to be directly linked to an endothermic or exothermic process. For example, moisture loss (endothermic) can be distinguished from thermal decomposition (exothermic).
Applications
TGA-DSC is applied in a wide range of applications, ranging from measuring the moisture content to assessment of the thermal stability and proximate analyses.
